WASHINGTON TERRACE, Weber County — A student at T H Bell Junior High School was hospitalized Tuesday after being stabbed at the school.

The male student was stabbed in the stomach at about 10:45 a.m., said Weber County Sheriff's Sgt. Paul Babinsky. The wound was the result of an "altercation" involving multiple students.

The student who was stabbed was taken to the hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening, according to Weber School District spokesman Lane Findlay, and the school was placed in a "hold" protocol, requiring "students and staff to remain in place while school officials and first responders address the situation."

That hold lasted about an hour and a half, Babinsky said. Four males were "apprehended" and taken to the Weber County Sheriff's Office for questioning.

Riverdale and Roy police also responded. No other information, including ages, was released about the injured student or those taken into custody.
