LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- The Cache County Council, once unanimously opposed to a particular route for a natural gas pipeline, has now decided to be neutral on the project.
At the request of landowners whose property would be potentially impacted, the council voted in April to oppose the southern route for El Paso Corp.'s Ruby Pipeline, which would serve markets in California and Oregon.
County Executive Lynn Lemon says that after an October meeting where no property owners spoke against it, the county decided to be neutral instead.
Both a northern and southern route had been considered for the 680-mile pipeline, which would serve markets in California and Oregon. In March Ruby Pipeline announced that the southern route was preferred.
