MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — Mickey Pearson Jr. scored 16 points and Jeremiah Hernandez made three free throws with 4.2 seconds left to lead the Ball State Cardinals as the Cardinals defeated the Central Michigan Chippewas 82-80. Hernandez scored 15 points while going 4 of 8 and 6 of 8 from the free-throw line for Ball State (9-9, 3-3 Mid-American Conference). Quentin Heady finished with 17 points for Central Michigan (8-10, 2-4).
