MEXICO CITY — Emilio Azcárraga has taken a leave of absence from his position as chief executive of Televisa because he is being investigated by the U.S. Department of Justice on a FIFA-related issue. The company made the announcement in its third quarter report to Mexico's stock market. The 56-year-old Azcárraga leaves with immediate effect the position he's held since the death of his same-name father in 1997. Televisa is the world's largest producer of Spanish content. It says in its report this week that it decided on Aug. 30 the departure of Azcárraga and it is "still cooperating with the investigation."
