PROVO — A motorcyclist died from his injuries following a collision with a turning car Wednesday morning, according to Provo police.

Just after 6 a.m., a Hyundai sedan and a motorcycle collided in the intersection of 800 North and 500 West. The northbound sedan was turning left in the intersection, when the bike struck the side of the vehicle from the opposite direction, police said in a statement.

Officers closed the intersection for around two and a half hours to investigate the crash, and said the driver of the vehicle cooperated at the scene. The motorcyclist, whose identity has not yet been released, was taken to Utah Valley Hospital where he died from his injuries.

No other information was released about the cause of the accident. All roads have since reopened.
