PITTSBURGH — The NFL Players Association would like to have more uniformity when it comes to playing surfaces, especially as the NFL's international calendar expands. NFLPA executive director Lloyd Howell Jr. says the league could only do so much to make the turf at the season opener between Philadelphia and Green Bay at a soccer stadium in Brazil playable. Players on both teams struggled with their footing at times. Howell says the NFLPA and the league need to work together to come up with requirements for venues interested in hosting a game.
