NEW YORK — The No. 1 seeds in the U.S. Open are in action at Arthur Ashe Stadium on Thursday in the second round. Jannik Sinner faces Alex Michelsen to open the day session. He is followed by Iga Swiatek, the 2022 women's champion, against Ena Shibahara. Play begins on the other courts at 11 a.m., with a matchup between Americans Jessica Pegula and Sofia Kenin third on the schedule on Louis Armstrong Stadium. Two-time U.S. Open champion Naomi Osaka opens the night session on Ashe against 2023 French Open runner-up Karolina Muchova, before Carlos Alcaraz plays Botic van de Zandschulp.
