OGDEN — A bicyclist who was hit and killed by a disposal truck early Monday has been identified as 31-year-old Charlie Hodgson, according to Ogden police.
The collision occurred at 6:18 a.m. at the intersection of 12th Street and Wall Avenue. An Ace Recycling and Disposal truck was traveling north on Wall Avenue and turned east on 12th Street, striking Hodgson who was in the crosswalk east of the intersection, said Ogden Police Lt. Will Farr.
Hodgson died at the scene. The truck driver did not notice the cyclist crossing in the intersection as he turned, Farr said.
Farr said the driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. Ace Recycling and Disposal declined to comment on the incident citing an ongoing investigation.
Correction: An earlier version said it was a dump truck but it was a disposal truck.
