With only a week of Christmas shopping left, stores are hoping the recent snow puts people in the buying spirit. Black Friday posted some good sales numbers, but since then many shops say shopping has slowed down, at least until it snowed.
University Mall marketing director Cindy Koenig says after a snowstorm they literally see a boost in the number of shoppers.
"We definitely have. I mean, you think lots of snow means people don't want to get out of the house, but I think we're finally ready for the snow," she said.
So apparently some powder outside means more people spending inside, realizing, hey Christmas is really right around the corner.
