SALT LAKE CITY — One person was injured and transported to a hospital in "serious condition" as a result of a large barn fire at 3200 West and 3300 North.

The Salt Lake City Fire Department is currently working the fire.

Capt. Brandt Hancuff said the fire started in hay bales inside the barn. He added that the fire is threatening some diesel tanks on the property but no other structures are at risk at the moment.

In a post on the social media platform X, the fire department said that all roads around the area are closed to provide water shuttle operations.

The department asked people to avoid the area to assist in fire operations.
