HURRICANE — A Hurricane man who police say told them he was trying to spend time with his teenage son has been arrested and accused of doing drugs with the son.
The 43-year-old man was arrested for investigation of child endangerment.
The investigation began Monday when police were called to a report of a possible overdose and a young man attacking a female.
"I spoke to the parents of the young male and was told that the young male was on LSD. I spoke to the young male's father … and he told me that a couple weeks ago while they were out of town, they were each gifted their own dose of LSD and they chose tonight to take it together and spend time together," according to a police booking affidavit.
After the man and his 17-year-old son both ingested LSD, the man says the two of them went for a walk. However, the teen "became violent, throwing himself against their front door, breaking the glass on it. (His) son sustained bodily injury to his back which was bleeding," the affidavit states.
The father was handcuffed and arrested after speaking with officers.
