SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City police say they found an injured man on the ground in the Glendale neighborhood, an apparent victim of a hit-and-run crash, early Saturday.
Police say they received reports of a crash near 1040 S. Redwood Road about 3:20 a.m. and began an investigation when they found the victim. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
"Based on the preliminary investigation, a car going north on Redwood Road hit the man as he crossed the road," according to a press release. "The driver who hit the man did not stop and likely continued north."
Investigators say the man did not appear to be in a marked crosswalk at the time of the crash.
No one was able to provide a description of the driver or vehicle that left the scene. The police are asking anyone with information on this crash to call 801-799-3000, or submit anonymous tips online through the CityProtect website, cityprotect.com/forms/slcgov.com/anonymous.
