CINCINNATI — John Means pitched seven shutout innings in his season debut as the Baltimore Orioles beat the Cincinnati Reds 2-1. Means allowed only three hits with eight strikeouts and no walks. Jorge Mateo and Adley Rutschman hit solo homers off Reds starter Andrew Abbott, who fell to 1-4. The Reds rallied in the ninth, but Yennier Cano got the final two outs to leave the bases loaded and pick up his first save of the season. The Orioles have won five of their past six games.
