FARR WEST, Weber County — A family identified the teen motorcyclist killed in Farr West after he went through an intersection and hit a trailer.

Utah Highway Patrol said just after 11 a.m. Tuesday, a Ford F-150 pulling a trailer was heading south on 2000 West. The truck turned left onto 2700 North on a green arrow when a northbound motorcycle went through the intersection and collided with the trailer, troopers say.

The 17-year-old motorcycle rider was taken to a hospital but later died from his injuries, UHP said. He was identified in a GoFundMe* as Yuri Lemos Torreao by his godmother, Renata Thurgood.

Thurgood said Yuri was 10 days shy of his 18th birthday and he loved everything about cars and had just received a scholarship to pursue a career as an auto mechanic. Thurgood said Yuri also loved fitness, exercise and being with his friends.

"Although life threw him some curve balls, he always had a smile on his face," Thurgood said.
