ST. GEORGE — Steve Clark is back in the game of college football, and he isn't going far.

The former BYU tight ends coach will join Utah Tech head coach Lance Anderson's staff in St. George, the Trailblazers announced Friday.

Clark was one of 10 members of Anderson's staff announced for the former Stanford assistant and recruit ace's first season in St. George, and one of eight new coaching additions.

Clark will serve as a senior offensive assistant for the team after spending the past eight seasons with Kalani Sitake in Provo. Prior to his second stint with the Cougars' program, he was the offensive coordinator at Weber State from 2014-16 and at Southern Utah from 2008-13, and spent one season as a defensive assistant at Utah in 2004.

The veteran coach was one of two offensive assistants not retained after the Cougars' inaugural Big 12 campaign that finished 5-7, along with offensive line coach Darrell Funk. Head coach Kalani Sitake hired NFL vet Kevin M Gilbride and former Utah State assistant TJ Woods to fill the respective roles.

Clark's son, Jamison, was one of two coaches retained by Anderson to continue from Paul Peterson's coaching staff at Utah Tech. The younger clark with three years of experience with Trailblazers will stay on as running backs coach and recruiting coordinator after previously serving as a defensive assistant working with the defensive line.

Also among the hires are Anderson's offensive and defensive coordinators for the 2024 season. Greg Stevens joins the program as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach after spending the past six years in the same role at Southeastern Louisiana, where he helped the Lions average 35.3 points and 439.8 yards per game, both top-20 marks nationally in the Football Championship Subdivision.

The native of Ephraim, Utah, returns to the Beehive State, where he was an all-conference quarterback at Snow College before finishing his playing career at Eastern Oregon in 1992.

Moynahan joins the staff as defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach from St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York. The college coach with over a decade of experience previously worked with Anderson for six seasons at Stanford from 2017-22.

Other new additions to the Utah Tech staff include former Southern Utah star James Cowser as defensive line coach, Boise State offensive analyst Taylor Kolste as wide receivers coach, Arizona State graduate assistant Ray Clark as defensive backs coach, Southeastern Louisiana analyst Nolan Givan as tight ends coach, Berry College assistant John Sikora as offensive line coach, and Utah graduate Ali'i Niumatalolo as outside linebackers coach.
