CORTINA D'AMPEZZO, Italy — Mikaela Shiffrin couldn't be happier about where she'll be competing in two years at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympics. Women's skiing in 2026 is slated for Cortina and the resort known as the "Queen of the Dolomites" is where Shiffrin won four medals in four events at the 2021 world championships. Shiffrin says ahead of a series of three speed races at the Italian resort that she "loves Cortina in general." Leading downhill skier Sofia Goggia says that Cortina hosting the Olympics will represent "the apotheosis of skiing." Skier-snowboarder Ester Ledecka has questions over the venue plan.
