TAYLORSVILLE — The Taylorsville Utah Temple will be open for public tours starting in April before its dedication on June 2, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced Tuesday.
The temple will be dedicated by Elder Gerrit W. Gong of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles in two sessions, which will be broadcast to members who live within the temple's district.
The open house will run from April 13 to May 18, with invited guests attending starting April 9. During the open house dates, anyone is invited to tour the temple between Monday and Saturday.
The Taylorsville temple was announced in October 2019 and is one of 28 temples in Utah, including some that remain under construction or have been announced.
There are 2.1 million members of the church in Utah, church leaders said in the press release announcing the dates.
The Taylorsville Utah Temple is the latest in a line of Utah temples reaching the end of construction. The Saratoga Springs Utah Temple, Orem Utah Temple, and St. George Utah Temple were all dedicated within the last six months and dedication dates have been announced for the the Layton Utah Temple, on June 16, and Red Cliffs Utah Temple in St. George, on March 24.
