DETROIT — The Minnesota Vikings couldn't overcome the loss of quarterback Kirk Cousins to a torn Achilles tendon back on Oct. 29. Minnesota tried three starting quarterbacks after Cousins got hurt, but none could lead the team to sustained success. Nick Mullens threw for 396 yards in Sunday's 30-20 loss to the Detroit Lions that left the Vikings with a 7-10 record and ended their long-shot playoff hopes. Mullens showed a big arm but also made too many negative plays. The Vikings also tried Joshua Dobbs and Jaren Hall at quarterback.
