LSU's Heisman-winning QB Jayden Daniels to skip Tigers' bowl game vs. Wisconsin

BATON ROUGE, La. — LSU's Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Jayden Daniels is skipping the Tigers' bowl game against Wisconsin. Daniels made his decision public in a video posted on social media on Monday in which he thanks everyone who made his successful two-year stint at LSU happen. No. 13 LSU and Wisconsin are set to meet in the ReliaQuest Bowl in Tampa, Florida, on New Year's Day. Sophomore Garrett Nussmeier is slated to start against the Badgers after serving as Daniels' backup and getting into five games this season. Daniels led the nation in total offense this season. He passed for 3,812 yards and 40 touchdowns to go with 1,134 yards and 10 touchdowns rushing. Daniels transferred to LSU from Arizona State in 2022.
