SALT LAKE CITY — Pick'em is back for championship week, and then it's bowl season.
There are no local matchups this week, but we tried to select the five most compelling championship games — sorry Michigan-Iowa — that the weekend could provide. Most of these have serious College Football Playoff implications.
The weekend begins Friday night (6 p.m. MST) in the final Pac-12 game before 10 of the teams begin life in a new conference next season — and the Pac-12 Networks won't even have a presence at the game.
One of the biggest games of the weekend is arguably the SEC championship, in which Alabama could make the four-team playoff draw rather interesting with a win. An Alabama win would no doubt spark a debate about one-loss teams and who gets left out.
Enjoy championship week before bowl season begins ... which is its own weird thing that we look forward to in the coming weeks.
Head on over to KSL.com Pick'em and fill out your weekly ballot.
