SALT LAKE CITY — Police gave the all-clear after sweeping the George E. Wahlen Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salt Lake City on Thursday in response to a bomb threat that caused the hospital to be evacuated.
The building received a bomb threat through a phone call about 1:30 p.m., a spokesman for the hospital said. The emergency department and surrounding areas were evacuated.
Police swept the main medical center buildings with bomb-sniffing dogs.
About 5:30 p.m., police said the building was safe. Further details on the investigation have not been released.
