Have You Seen This? When the coach turns the tables on a reporter

FLIPPING THE SCRIPT — Press conferences are generally viewed as a formal setting between coaches and media, but that's not always the case.

While they often are formal in nature, there are several instances where they turn informal and lighthearted. Sports aren't all serious after all.

For example, Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham recently joked with media there should be an octagon setup after press conferences for the media to fight after several tried to ask a question at the same time. If Whittingham is entering the octagon, I'm not sure anyone survives against him, but I digress.

On Monday, Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman was taking part in his normal press conference duties. After answering a question, he decided to flip the script on the reporters.

"My turn," Freeman said.

Apparently, Irish Illustrated's Tim O'Malley is the head coach to Freeman's son for a flag football team, and Freeman had some questions about some recent games.

And Freeman didn't hold back — all in fun, of course. He brought up two red zone trips where his son's team failed to score, and he wanted answers. And don't get him started on a certain player with the name Freeman on the back of his jersey that had only one of two flags on that negated a big play.

O'Malley, to his credit, answered the questions in stride, and graded his coaching effort of that game in the D range. He at least gave himself an A grade for the next game where they won the championship.
