STERUSY, Slovakia — Police in Slovakia never expected to see this.

They caught a speeding car on radar. But a traffic camera photo revealed a dog was behind the wheel.

In a now-famous Facebook post, police insisted this pic is "NO PHOTO EDIT OR FAKE."

Police joked on the Facebook post, "Mr. Dog, you are over speeding." "Your driving certificates, (please)." However, it wasn't the dog, but its 31-year-old owner who had some explaining to do.

The man claimed the canine suddenly jumped onto his lap but there was no evidence of that, police said as they issued the man a citation.

Police figured the brown hunting dog was on the lookout for deer. "We ruined the boy's hunting plans and ended his wandering around the tent," they said.

A commenter on social media said the dog looked so attentive behind the wheel that it "likely drives better than most people."

Still, police warned all motorists to be careful while driving with animals. "Even a small animal can endanger your life and health while driving," they said.
