CLEARFIELD — A family of four was displaced after a house fire late Tuesday in Clearfield.

Firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire at 183 S. 400 East just after 10 p.m. They arrived to find the home fully engulfed in flames, according to North Davis Fire Chief Mark Becraft.

Two adults and two children made it out of the house safely. One occupant inhaled smoke but is expected to be OK, Becraft said. One pet was killed in the fire.

One of the occupants said they believe the fire started in the kitchen, but investigators were still working to confirm the cause.

Becraft said the home is a total loss, with damage around $300,000.
