THE COURSE — Huskies and border collies could both be considered working dogs.
They both train and work hard in very different environments to help a human out with an excess of running, be it by pulling dog sleds through frozen tundras or herding animals across grazing land.
But if internet clips can tell us anything about dogs, it's that different breeds tend to have different personalities. While border collies and huskies lean toward right on the too-smart-for-their-own-good scale, the former tends to use their powers for good and the latter tend to use their powers to … complain to get what they want.
Let's consider dog agility races, which are made up of obstacles for dogs to overcome at the guidance of their trainers. The two breeds in discussion both have the smarts and speed capabilities to excel at agility races, but they don't necessarily have similar results.
In this video, you'll first see a border collie named Fame do his run and then a husky named Lobo do his "run."
Fame has a jaw-dropping, spectacular run, flying through the obstacles with incredible focus and agility. Lobo's run is also jaw-dropping, but your open mouth will likely lead to a good laugh rather than oohs and aahs. It's a delight.
One of the great things about dogs is that no matter how they perform, all dogs are the goodest dogs. There's even evidence of this in the video as the announcers say encouraging things to Lobo, even though he can't hear them.
