TREMONTON — A 73-year-old woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 15 near Tremonton on Thursday.

The woman was traveling south around 9:45 p.m. in a Mitsubishi Raider pickup when she made an abrupt turn to the right while entering a curve, Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Cam Roden said.

The vehicle crossed several lanes and exited the roadway going sideways, traveled down an embankment and into an irrigation ditch before coming to rest on the driver's side.

Investigators say the woman, who was wearing a seatbelt, was partially ejected and died at the scene.

Troopers have not released the driver's name.
