KAILUA KONA, Hawaii — Technology has allowed us to get around new places with ease but it's surely important to not become too reliant on our little gadgets. Just a moment of distraction can lead to a wrong turn and a sinking car.
Two tourists in Hawaii were just following directions from their GPS when they found themselves sinking in Honokohau Harbor. Luckily, a sailboat crew quickly sprang into action to help rescue them before they sank to the bottom.
In the video, the tourists can be seen buckled into their seats with the windows down as water pours in, causing the car to sink. The passenger is able to escape from the window, but bystanders have to jump into the water to help get the driver out of the vehicle.
Luckily, no one was hurt in this unfortunate mishap, but it's a good reminder to not become over-reliant on technology, pay attention to your surroundings and just use common sense.
