NEW YORK — Ryan Weathers got his first big league win in two years as his father, former major league pitcher David Weathers, watched from a second-row seat and Manny Machado hit a two-run double that led the San Diego Padres over the New York Mets 4-2. Xander Bogaerts added a two-run homer in the ninth. Ryan Weathers held the Mets to one run and three hits in five innings in his first win since July 2021. David Weathers, now 53, pitched in the big leagues from 1991-2009.
