CONNECTICUT – Beluga whales are known to be some of the most social creatures in the ocean. They travel in pods and love to play pranks on each other.
But their gregariousness isn't just limited to marine mammals. This video shows how happy they are to bring humans into the mix.
It looks like the beluga had a plan all along. It waits there innocently until it gets the kids' attention. Then it quickly sucks up some water and sends it splashing down onto them. Definitely a genius strategy.
"My children visited a beluga exhibit and were hysterically laughing at its antics," explains the caption. "Then beluga took a gulp of water and spat it onto my children who shrieked with both horror and joy. The beluga seemed quite pleased."
Yes, that whale's grin does make it look quite pleased. It has probably spent years honing its splashing skills. And it legitimately seems to enjoy making kids laugh.
