PARIS — Tourists in the City of Light are seeing double.
An artist has erected a mini version of the Eiffel Tower next to the original landmark. Dubbed "Eiffela," the replica is about 1/10th the Eiffel Tower's height of 1083 feet. The "baby Eiffel Tower" is made of 3,900 large pieces and 9,000 smaller metallic pieces, according to Yahoo.
Artist Philippe Maindron told Inside Edition that he "had a dream that the Eiffel Tower had a baby." Maindron brought that dream to life, including the sound of a crying baby at the art installation that plays every 10 minutes.
Many thought the baby Eiffel Tower was a prank since it appeared on April Fools' Day, but the installation is in Paris until Monday when it will move on to other cities.
