SALT LAKE CITY — Check back for the latest scores from all the Week 6 high school football games across the state.
KSL.com Game of the Week: Brighton at Skyline
Why did we choose this game?
After a Week 1 stumble against 4A Desert Hills, No. 18 Brighton has won four straight games and currently leads a competitive Region 6 pool with a 4-1 overall record. The Bengals have a head start against their competition with two wins in region play but face a tough test this week against a lurking Skyline team that would love nothing more than to be back on top.
The Eagles haven't been perfect this season, but they haven't really been out of contention, either — outside a 45-17 loss to Springville in Week 2. Skyline was a field goal away from topping Bountiful (16-14) to be 4-1 on the season to match Brighton in the overall standings.
Region 6 won't necessarily be decided in this Week 6 game, but it will go a long way to establishing a sort of pecking order with only a few games left in the regular season. If Brighton can come away with a win, a region title is within reach; but a Skyline win makes the waters a little more murky.
Other games we'll be watching:
- Thursday: Springville defense strikes Provo for 18-14 win to take control of Region 9
- 4th quarter turnovers seal 24-14 Lone Peak win over Pleasant Grove
