SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Twilight Concert Series is adding a new concert date to replace a show that was suddenly canceled earlier this month.

The Salt Lake City Arts Council announced Tuesday that it is adding a new show on Sept. 30 to close out its 35th season. The new concert features the band Band of Horses with local artists Dad Bod and Daytime Lover opening. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Band of Horses, an indie rock band from Seattle, last played the Twilight Concert Series in 2012. The group released its sixth studio album, "Things Are Great," earlier this year to mostly critical acclaim.

Tuesday's announcement comes less than two weeks after the series' 35th season was delayed by an abrupt cancelation. The July 14 headliner Rainbow Kitten Surprise announced it was canceling the rest of its July and August tour the morning of the show, resulting in the concert's cancelation.

While those who purchased tickets for the show were eligible for a refund, the city's arts council says tickets for that show also will be valid for the new Sept. 30 show. The series' 35th season will instead launch on Aug. 6 with the Wild Hearts Tour, featuring singer-songwriters Sharon Van Etten, Angel Olsen and Julien Baker.
