HURRICANE — One woman is dead, and two other people were injured in a crash on state Route 59 southeast of Hurricane near Apple Valley on Monday.
The incident happened around 4:30 p.m. when police said an eastbound pickup truck drifted into the westbound lanes, colliding head-on with a westbound pickup truck. The female passenger in the westbound truck sustained fatal injuries; drivers of both pickup trucks were transported to a local hospital with what police say appear to be injuries that are not life-threatening.
Police say that fatigue is being considered a possible contributor to the crash.
The name of the deceased has not yet been released.
