SALT LAKE CITY — Interstate 215 closed in Salt Lake City for several hours after a crash early Monday.

The crash happened about 4 a.m. southbound near 2600 North. The Utah Highway Patrol said the crash damaged a utility pole, causing utility lines to hang close to southbound travel lanes.

The road closed for several hours while crews repaired the pole, and lanes reopened about 7:30 a.m.

During the closure, drivers were unable to access southbound I-215 from I-15, Redwood Road or Legacy Parkway.
