SALT LAKE CITY — Frank Layden was known as a funny man when coaching the Utah Jazz, but moving the franchise to Utah in 1979 was no laughing matter.
Layden questioned the decision at the time, saying "there's nobody here." But he helped bring the team to Utah and made sure the team stayed in Salt Lake City. The former president and coach of the Jazz still lives in Utah and recently celebrated his 90th birthday.
