WEST VALLEY CITY — West Valley police are looking for a man who detectives are calling a person of interest in a fatal stabbing over the weekend.
About 8:15 p.m. Saturday, Willie Houston, 59, was stabbed and killed at the Aspenwood Apartments, 4178 S. 4080 West. A tenant called police after "a man who was bleeding badly had knocked on their apartment door," West Valley police said Monday in a statement.
Houston lived at the apartment complex with his girlfriend.
"Witnesses report some sort of dispute occurring between Mr. Houston and his girlfriend's nephew, 30-year-old Deon Jennings, who also lives in the apartment complex, in a separate apartment. Investigators would like to speak with Mr. Jennings regarding this incident, but have been unable to locate him," police said.
Jennings is 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs 150 pounds, has brown eyes and black hair that is believed to be shorter than depicted in the photo police released Monday.

The stabbing was one of two unrelated incidents West Valley police officers were called to Saturday night.
Shortly after the incident at the Aspenwood Apartments, officers were called to 4440 W. Trinity Ave. where a 48-year-old man had been shot and was found lying in front of the residence, and a 32-year-old man was stabbed multiple times and found in the kitchen. The two men were taken to a local hospital in critical conditions.
Terica Savas-Caldwell, 39, was arrested for investigation of discharging a firearm causing serious injury.
"The events leading up to this incident, as well as the relationships among those involved, are currently under investigation," police said.
