ROY — A driver died Tuesday morning after a crash in Roy, police said.

A vehicle was stopped in the left turn lane of northbound 1900 West at 5200 South, when a southbound vehicle swerved into it, said Roy police spokesman Stuart Hackworth.

The crash fatally injured the driver of the vehicle that hit the northbound car.

The other driver was taken to a hospital with injuries that did not appear life-threatening, Hackworth said.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area, which is expected to have traffic delays until at least noon, according to a Facebook post from Roy police.
