WEST BOUNTIFUL — One person was killed and two were injured late Monday in a crash on the freeway in West Bountiful.
About 10:30 p.m., a car lost control and rolled into a ditch on the side of the road near a ramp on I-15 at 500 South, Utah Highway Patrol trooper J. Haywood said.
Two of the car's three occupants were thrown from the vehicle. One female was declared dead on scene, and a male was hospitalized with injuries that did not appear life-threatening, according to Haywood.
Neither of the two people who were ejected were wearing seat belts, the trooper said.
The third passenger sustained minor injuries. She was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, Haywood said.
The cause of the crash remained unknown early Tuesday.
