ANYWHERE — I am not proud of this, but I took about three years of piano lessons and I can find middle C. That's about it. I also took three years worth of viola lessons and I could not tell you how to play one note.
The problem here is that I was lazier than I would have liked to admit when I was a kid. I'm still lazy, just more OK with it and not afraid to admit it.
My laziness kept me from practicing and that's about six years of my life spent learning something that's no longer in my brain. Don't get me started on the four years of French I took in school.
I think my laziness is what impresses me most about this video. This guy not only learned to play the piano, practiced and remembered how to play it, but he also decided to figure out an interesting new way to do it.
He attached strings to some of the piano keys and then hooked the other end to rings he put on his fingers. Then he figured out how to play a few songs. Is there a great use of this contraption? Most would say no, but I'm not so sure. I mean, first off, who cares how practical it is? It's awesome. On top of that, his lack of laziness possibly helped lazy people like me learn the piano. I mean, now I can lay in bed and practice. That sounds like a win to me.
