SALT LAKE CITY — Police say a man was injured by glass after his car was shot at in Salt Lake City on Saturday.

The man was found in his car near 25 N. Redwood Road, after police received reports of an injury around 5:30 p.m., according to Salt Lake police. Police originally believed his injuries were from a gunshot, but when he arrived at the hospital, doctors confirmed his injuries were from the glass breaking when his car was shot.

He was released from the hospital around 8 p.m.

An investigation is ongoing at two crime scenes: at the intersection of North Temple and Cornell Street, and at 1530 W. North Temple. Police believe the suspect or suspects shot the man from a car while he was in his own car. The suspect or suspects drove away after the shooting, police said.

No descriptions of the suspect or suspects have been released.

Police are asking anyone with information on the shooting to call 801-799-3000 and reference case number 22-31030.
