WEST JORDAN – One person was sent to the hospital with severe burns after a house fire in West Jordan on Wednesday evening.
The fire broke out at around 7 p.m. at a duplex on Kanyon Circle. West Jordan Battalion Chief Clint Paxton said crews were fighting the flames for some time due to the home having oxygen tanks inside.
"The flames were so strong that they blew out the windows," Paxton said.
Crews were able to extinguish the fire without it reaching the other half of the duplex, and officials reported that the residents of the adjoined home were allowed back in.
Officials have not yet named the cause of the fire.
