OAK CITY, Millard County – A boil order was issued on Thursday for residents of Oak City due to a failed water test.

City officials announced on Facebook that a routine test of the water system had "come back bad." Another test was performed, determining that the water supply from one of the springs failed the test.

With the source having been located, officials say that it has been removed from the drinking water system, but that the boil order remains in place until the water is again tested and has passed evaluation.

City officials say they hope to have the order lifted by the first of the week, but that they will update the city's Facebook page, as well as the local post office, with information as it becomes available.
