SALT LAKE CITY — A person was found dead in a car off of Bangerter Highway on Tuesday, authorities said.

The car appeared to have gone off the road into a ditch near the highway's intersection with state Route 201, Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Cameron Roden said.

It's unclear how long the car had been there, Roden added.

There was water in the ditch where the car was found, but the vehicle wasn't submerged, Roden said.

Further details weren't available Tuesday.
