DRAPER — A 78-year-old woman died in a crash in Draper on Tuesday.

The crash took place about 12:30 p.m. on Bangerter Parkway near 300 East, Draper Police Lt. Dave Harris said.

An SUV was going up a hill on the highway when it crashed into a dump truck that was coming down the hill, Harris said.

The 78-year-old woman, who was in the SUV, died at the scene, Harris said. She was not identified.

The parkway was closed between 300 East and Highland Drive while police investigated the crash, but reopened shortly after 7 p.m., Draper city officials said.

Further details about the crash weren't available Tuesday.

Correction: A previous version said the crash happened on Bangerter Highway. It was actually Bangerter Parkway.
