OGDEN — A pedestrian was killed late Thursday night after apparently being hit by Weber State University police officer.
The Weber State University Police Department said in a statement that an on-duty officer was driving north on Washington Boulevard near the intersection of 27th Street at about 10:40 p.m. when the crash occurred.
Ogden police officers responded to the crash and found the Weber State officer performing CPR on the man who had been hit, said Ogden Police Lt. John Cox.
The man, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not yet been released.
A police car with a dent on its front end was seen at the location of the crash.
The Ogden Police Department and Weber County Attorney's Office are investigating the incident.
The officer involved in the crash was not injured, Weber State police said. That officer has been placed on paid administrative leave while the investigation continues.
"This is an ongoing investigation and WSPD cannot comment further at this time," the university police department said in the statement.
