MURRAY — A man is dead after a car and a motorcycle collided Tuesday near 5300 South and Intermountain Drive in Murray.

The crash happened just after 5 p.m. when a man, said to be in his 20s, was heading west on 5300 South, and a driver in a car heading north made a left turn onto 50 East. The two collided, said Murray police spokeswoman Kristin Reardon.

A bystander administered CPR until first responders arrived, but the man on the motorcycle, who police said was not wearing a helmet, died at the scene.

His identity was not released.

The driver was taken to a hospital with minor injuries and is said to be cooperating with the police investigation.

As a result of the crash, westbound 5300 South at State Street was closed for a time while crews assessed the scene.
