THE GRIDIRON — There's nothing quite like an epic catch in a football game. The crowd collectively holds its breath as the ball soars through the air, dozens of variables occurring simultaneously. Will the pass be on target? What if the receiver stumbles? What if the defender gets a hand on the ball?

If you're a football fan, you've seen this scene play out countless times. But there's another type of catch that also deserves mentioning. They're not as impactful. but they're certainly memorable. The times when a player nearly drops an easy catch, then somehow reels in the ball before hitting the ground. Or an assistant coach on the sideline makes a one-handed catch of an errant pass.

This catch at the Weber State vs. UC Davis football game definitely falls into the latter category:

Not only did the cheerleader make a truly impressive megaphone catch, but his celebration was second-to-none. Sadly, Weber State would go on to lose the game by a field goal. But this play will probably go down in the cheerleading hall of fame.
