THE STAGE — Art is not all created equal.

Thousands of different topics, mediums and styles speak to different people. What some people find beautiful, others may find unpleasant. What some people view as thought-provoking, others may find absurdly weird.

From dance and music to fiber arts and painting, there really is something out there for everyone. But there is one category of art that (in at least one person's opinion) is most likely to make people stop and go, "What the what?" — performative arts.

This video may be the pinnacle of "What the what?" when it comes to performative art, and it will take you on a journey of humor and horror.

It all begins with humans dressed as sheep in a fenced area. A slightly funny, not terrible beginning. But then you get punched with the performative part.

The "sheeple" maintain blank faces as they move as a herd and bleat their sheep feelings. It's a bit upsetting, and you want to look away, but you can't. There's even a little storyline with a shepherd and a wolf, which makes it all a little funnier and a lot weirder.

There's really no explanation for the performance. I cannot soothe your soul or help it make sense to your brain.

The only thing we can say for certain is that this is a professional performance troupe called Corpus Dance Projects based in Toronto, and that they describe their style as surrealist humor. Mission accomplished.

Sorry about the nightmares.
