SARATOGA SPRINGS — A man faces criminal charges accusing him of committing lewd acts in front of teenage girls in a store parking lot — and even jumping in the back seat of one car occupied by two teens to commit his act.
Damien Alec Pullman, 28, of Saratoga Springs, was charged Aug. 30 in 4th District Court with two counts of drug possession with intent to distribute, a second-degree felony; possession of a firearm by a restricted person, a third-degree felony; four counts of lewdness and interfering with an arresting officer, both class B misdemeanors.
Pullman is accused of going to the parking lot of a Walmart in Saratoga Springs and exposing himself to teen girls on three separate occasions between July 19 and Aug. 16.
On July 19, a 17-year-old girl reported that Pullman came up to her car while she was in the passenger seat waiting for a friend, knocked on her window, exposed himself and tried to open her door, charging documents state. The girl jumped into the driver's seat and drove to another side of the parking lot.
On Aug. 9, Pullman got into the back seat of car occupied by two girls, ages 15 and 17, pulled down his pants and began to touch himself, according to the charges. The girls jumped out of their car and shouted for help. Another man in the area chased after Pullman who police say ran away from the car, but was unable to catch him.
On Aug. 15, a 16-year-old girl sitting in a car saw Pullman pull up next to her and stare at her while committing a sex act, the charges allege.
Police say they were able to get surveillance video of Pullman's pickup truck from the Aug. 15 incident. On Aug. 18, an officer spotted the suspected vehicle and ran the license plate. Officers then kept surveillance on Pullman and his car and followed him as he returned to the Walmart on Aug. 23, the charges state. After watching Pullman allegedly follow two cars around the parking lot, police pulled him over.
When the officer ordered Pullman to step out of his vehicle, prosecutors say he refused and tried to lock the door. An officer was able to get the door open before it locked and multiple officers dragged Pullman out of his car, the charges say. In the bed of Pullman's truck, police reported finding the license plate that Pullman had removed from his vehicle.
Police then went to Pullman's home and served a search warrant where they found hallucinogenic mushrooms and containers that appeared to contain mushrooms that were growing, the charges state.
"Officers sought and obtained a second search warrant and continued searching. Officers found several large containers with hallucinogenic mushrooms. Officers found a black pouch in a jar which contained 70 or more LSD stamps," according to the charging documents.
Police also found a "buy/owe" sheet near the drugs, and hunting rifles, the charges say. Prosecutors have requested Pullman be held with no option for bail, pending trial.
"Detectives believe it is possible that other victims from across Utah and Salt Lake counties will come forward in the coming weeks," officers wrote in the booking affidavit.
