SALT LAKE CITY — Problems Thursday morning with Salt Lake City's 911 line have been resolved, police said.

The city worked on the problem all morning, according to Salt Lake police detective Marie Stewart.

City officials Thursday afternoon said it was not caused by the storm. The reason for the problem was not immediately disclosed.

Although dispatchers could see incoming calls, they were having difficulty connecting with callers. Anyone needing to call 911 was urged to call the nonemergency police line if they couldn't get via 911.

Spanish Fork officials also reported their city was experiencing a phone system outage Thursday morning. That issue was also resolved by midday, officials said.
